The client had aquired truck and bus dealership rights for the FAW range of trucks and buses and needed the site to bring in new truck sales enquiries. The existing local FAW site owned by FAW South Africa did not adequately showcase the range and specifications of the vehicles.
Motor Engineering Works are Kwazulu-Natal and Sub Saharan Africa dealers for FAW Trucks and Buses. The site provides details of the range of trucks available in South Africa with each product having a detail specification sheet and the ability to add product tours. The product tours enable detailed text and images for each product to be added so the site so that all aspects of the vehicle including, interior, exterior, engine, tipping mechanism etc. can be shown to the site visitor. Almost all aspects of the site can be updated by Motor Engineering Works staff themselves via the admin interface, including the detailed product specification and product tours. The site also includes user updatable services and company information as well as details of all branches and staff. Most components including products, services, people, places, articles and faqs can cross reference each other enabling for example people to be linked to a place or articles and faqs to be linked to a product or product category.
The entire site includes active browsing which enables the owner to browse the site and make content changes or additions directly from the pages, a traditional backend admin interface is also included enabling changes and additions to be made from the main admin menu.
Integrated menu system automatically updates to show any new or amended categories. The entire site is also optimised for search engines and a number of components utilise artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic methodologies for automatically handling many of the display related features.
